Action:

Tibetan Friendship Group Australia (Inc.)

A voluntary humanitarian organisation caring for Tibetan refugees in India since 1968.

TFG is unique in today’s world, because every bit of your sponsorship money goes to your nominated Tibetan person or centre.

We meet in each other’s homes, and have separate fund raising to cover bank and postage costs etc.

We arrange educational sponsorships for children and tertiary students; for old people, for monks and for nuns; for students training and preserving the Tibetan culture with dance, music, art, instrument and costume making.

We send donations for hospitals and clinics; for torture survivors programmes; for handicapped children; for schools and crèches; for evening classes for adults who are recently arrived from Tibet or have slipped through the educational system; we build public toilets in remote communities and in isolated homes; we donate to a fund to give children a holiday and opportunity to reunite with their parents.

We also have the most wonderful satisfaction from the triumphs of these Tibetans. They do some thing with what we give them, and never seem to need the same help twice.

We have formed friendships and developed new families.

We have laughed and cried with them.

THE COMMITTEE ITSELF FEEL INDEBTED TO THE TIBETAN COMMUNITY FOR ALL THE RICHNESS AND STRENGTH THEY HAVE GIVEN TO OUR OWN LIVES.
