His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, is the spiritual leader of Tibet and the patron of the Tibetan Friendship Group. He has been awarded the Templeton Prize for his commitment to interfaith relations and the Nobel Peace Prize for his non-violent struggle for the liberation of Tibet. His Holiness has travelled to more than 62 countries spanning six continents. He has met with leaders of nations and all the major world religions, with scientists, scholars and ordinary people like us. His Holiness has received over 84 awards, honorary doctorates and prizes in recognition of his message of peace, non-violence, inter-religious understanding, universal responsibility and compassion. And this man who describes himself as “a simple Buddhist monk” has written more than 72 books.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama visited Australia in June 2013. He gave public talks in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Darwin and teachings in Sydney (Jewel Lamp – a Praise of Bodhichitta) and Darwin (The Four Noble Truths).
